Sokol Minnesota and the Czech & Slovak School Twin Cities are proud to be a Consultation Center (host site) for the North American debut of the Virtual University for the Third Age (Virtuální univerzita třetího věku VU3V). This respected program has offered university courses remotely to seniors in the Czech Republic and Slovakia for 15 years. As a Consultation Center, SokolMN/Škola will coordinate local activities to supplement the video lecture courses. For the pilot semester in North America, we are excited to offer The Remarkable World of Mushrooms Pozoruhodný svět hub.

Course content provided by VU3V:
– 6 video lectures (in Czech with English subtitles) with bilingual online tests and study materials. A new lecture becomes available every three weeks starting January 2 and can be watched wherever and whenever.

Optional local activities organized by Sokol Minnesota and Česká a slovenská škola:
– For native speakers of Czech and Slovak, meeting times and locations will be determined based upon the participants’ preferences. Pro rodilé mluvčí češtiny a slovenštiny, čas a místo setkání budou určeny na základě přání účastníků.

– March 24 (Sunday), 4:00 p.m. Online check-back meeting in English, Zoom
– April 12 (Friday), 7:00 p.m. Friendly Friday at the C.S.P.S. Hall: Mushroom jigsaw puzzles; mushroom recipe exchange and snacks
– May. Spring mushroom hunt with local foraging expert Mojo Mushroom https://mojomushroom.com/
