Historian Joe Landsberger discusses his new book, Origin Story of Fort Road/West Seventh Street, the Township/City of St. Paul, the Territory/State of Minnesota: Glacial Age Forward
Presentation from 7:00 – 8:00, with conversation and social time following.
Join us in one of St. Paul’s oldest and best-loved buildings to hear about the history of the city’s first commercial corridor and neighborhood. Joe Landsberger, longtime member and former President of Czech and Slovak Sokol Minnesota, will share highlights from his new book, his research, and his writing process. Joe is well known for his work for the West 7th neighborhood and his wealth of knowledge regarding the area.

The Care - A Puppet Performance for Adults
Friday, March 21st, 7:00 p.m.
Join us for a puppet thriller performance for adults at the C.S.P.S. Hall!
Education, surveillance, cakes, and poison. Mrs. Moosh likes baking. She takes care of graves. She thinks children should not worry parents. Moosh, obedient worker, follows orders. There are many assignments in the town. The check is secret. Control is everywhere. Control is controlled. A puppet thriller with a crime plot and a quiz! Based on a novel by Ladislav Fuks.
Bio Masha (Marie Černíková, PhD), a Czech artist and performer, tells the story, sings, and makes music on electronic instruments. She created the production and the puppets.
But who is the puppet and what to the machines really want? Who is controlling? Who cares?
Light refreshments will be provided. This event is free due to a grant from the Consulate General of the Czech Republic in Chicago.

Muahahaha! - A Puppet Performance for Children and Teens

Join us for a puppet adventure for children and teens at the C.S.P.S. Hall!
Secrets, puppets, challenges, and songs. An adventure play for those who like to influence the plot. Not much is said in the mystery story because it is a search and investigation performance! Maybe the detective is a little scared. Maybe the detective just doesn’t understand!

Sokol Camp Booya Picnic
Sunday, August 10th, Noon - 5 p.m. (serving food until 4 p.m.)
Please join us for this long-standing tradition of Czech and Slovak food, music, and dance. The Lipa Carpatho-Rusyn Slovak Dancers will once again entertain the crowd starting at 3 p.m., along with live concertina and guitar provided by Dave Carlson.
